Wolverhampton Airport

Wolverhampton Business Airport (at Halfpenny Green) is a small airfield which lacks many of the basic infrastructure requirements for use by large aircraft.

It is located in the Green Belt, in a particularly important swathe of countryside which stretches unspoilt from the edge of the West Midlands conurbation to the Welsh Marches in Shropshire.

However, this has not stopped its owners seeking to introduce commercial aircrafts.
Previous proposals to expand the airport also relied on provision of highly damaging new bypasses through the Green Belt to the West of Wolverhampton and Stourbridge which we and local residents successfully defeated in 2004. This led to the current review of regeneration in the Black Country.

We continue to believe that expansion of the airport and it should not be used for commercial aviation.
